Hermes Sanctorum



Hermes Sanctorum is the head of the consultancy firm Hugin & Munin, and since 2019 has worked for GAIA (Global Action in the Interest of Animals) on the transition toward cell-based meat and animal-free experimentation. From 2009 to 2019 he was a member of the Flemish parliament and a Belgian senator, where his major battlefields were animal welfare and rights, in particular the case of slaughter without stunning. Hermes Sanctorum studied bioengineering and obtained a PhD in environmental chemistry in 2009. He was alderman in his hometown Overijse from 2001 until 2006. He is the author of Eigen soort eerst (First Our Own Species) and a lecturer.
