“Micah’s book finally gives the us and the world of psychedelics a book that does justice to the long and often lengthy process of using psychedelics to support healing trauma. Her honest description of this process highlights both challenges and the great rewards that lie ahead of anyone seeking to use psychedelics for healing their trauma. As a seasoned psychedelic therapist myself, I am relieved that Micah has written this book as it brings attention to the not-so-quick-fix nature of these experiences, sheds light on the cultural narrative of the ‘panacea’ that surrounds psychedelic medicine, and brings the reader a more realistic view of the healing journey these medicine journeys are here to carry us through.”
—Dori G. Lewis she/her, MA, EdM, LPC-S, co-owner and cofounder of elementalpsychedelics.com

“Micah has created a must-read for anyone curious about the healing power of psychedelics. Healing Psychedelics demystifies the process and emphasizes safety and effectiveness, making it an essential guide for both new explorers and seasoned practitioners to dive deeper into the world of psychedelics. Read this book and discover how psychedelics can transform your journey through trauma.”
—Jessika Lagarde, psychedelic-assisted medicine facilitator, integration coach, and cofounder of Women On Psychedelics

“Micah bravely addresses both the light and shadow encountered when a therapist and client embark on this transformative journey together. She touches on the origins of this medicine honoring indigenous teachers who have protected and shared it for centuries. Through her expertise and compassionate insight, Micah illustrates how a carefully nurtured therapeutic relationship has the potential to change not just individuals, but the world.”
—Rev. Liliana Barzola, curandera and founder of Lotus Lantern Healing Arts

Micah Stover’s introduction to psychedelic therapy followed a traumatic pregnancy and birth that unearthed a reservoir of unresolved trauma. The journey to heal those wounds transformed Micah’s life.

In 2022, she began training with the Psychedelic Somatic Institute and completed their apprenticeship program. She went on to attain the master facilitator certification and is currently in their instructor training program. In Micah’s current role as a certified psychedelic somatic therapist, she hosts individual healing retreats and trains psychedelic practitioners. She is committed to education and harm reduction. Micah also teaches an online course called Healing Psychedelics. Her practice reflects a hybrid of study and training from the clinical and indigenous approaches to working with psychedelic medicines. She is passionate about helping others understand the overlapping space where science and spirit meet within the psychedelic experience.

Psychedelics are a catalyst for deeper healing. Discover the healing power of psychedelics from a certified psychedelic therapist on your journey through trauma.

Psychedelics are showing great promise as a new way to heal trauma and improve emotional wellness. Studies have shown that they can be effective in reducing PTSD, anxiety, and depression, even in cases that are resistant to other treatments. With Healing Psychedelics, Stover offers a comprehensive and informative guide for both professionals and patients who are interested in learning more about psychedelic-assisted therapy. In a time when mystery, unrealistic expectations, and exorbitant prices make this therapy hard to access or understand, Healing Psychedelics aims to reduce the risk for harm and bring consciousness to the conversation. It covers everything you need to know, from preparation to integration, with an emphasis on safety and effectiveness.

Each chapter reveals a vignette taken directly from the psychedelic space that shows the medicine and process used for transformation during the sessions. These vignettes share what medicinal tools were applied and why, and include experiences working with medium and macro-doses of MDMA, psilocybin, ketamine, and cannabis. They also weave in wisdom from indigenous and Mexican healers and practitioners. The chapters close with application exercises, writing prompts, and journal entries to deepen the reader’s healing journey. These exercises are applicable to all readers, whether you are working on your own or with a therapist.

Healing Psychedelics shows the complete process, enabling the reader to safely unlock the power of psychedelics to heal trauma and transform their life for a brighter future.
